Two days with no “treats”. Meaning candy, pop, desserts. But I’m having a pretty intense craving for something sugary right now. Who has a fool-proof way of beating a craving?
I went one whole day with no sugar!
You may have to fight a battle more than once to win it.
Story of my life, lately.
Well, sugar-free lasted about… 3 hours. That’s something, I guess. I’ll restart that one tomorrow.
I’m going to contradict myself just a little – I was saying that I want to take little baby steps to get healthy. Well, that’s not working out for me either. I’ll just make a big grand gesture now, in the hopes that something will stick. *I’m going sugar-free for the foreseeable future!*
This means no pop, candy, or desserts. I’m going to let myself have fruit and juice (only the real kind of juice, lemonade doesn’t count); completely cutting out sugar is just not an option. For me, anyways. And fruit and juice are healthy, anyways! Unlike the two packages of Oreos that I ate in the last three days.
I’ll figure out this getting healthy business sometime.
I am not healthy. I’m 60 lbs overweight, can barely run, on medication for depression, have a really bad sweet tooth, have little energy for dealing with my kids or keeping the house clean, and I could go on. I would like to be healthy. I’ve tried many different things, many different times. My problem is that I can’t keep it up. I always start with an over abundance of enthusiasm, thinking I’ll change my whole life in the next month. All I have to do is run every day, quit eating sugar, and get a cleaning schedule going. Easy-peasy.
I’m finally getting older and wiser. I’ve decided to start very small, and keep the change up until it’s a habit before starting another one.
My first change was to remember to take my medication every day. I know, its not a very big step. But it’s something that I’ve struggled with. I set an alarm on my phone for everyday at 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. to remind me. I’ve now gone 2 whole weeks without forgetting! Yay me! Now I’m ready for my next healthy change.
I’m going to drink a 1/2 gallon of water every day, for 2 weeks straight. If I miss a day, I start over. I’m hoping to feel better, and not get as many headaches if I’m fully hydrated.

I’m always looking for healthy “treats” when I’m trying to lose weight. So I thought: Cafe Latte flavored Greek yogurt? What could possibly be wrong about that? As it turns out, everything. It was not good. Maybe my container had gone bad, but the first bite had a sour, slightly acidic taste, and it only got worse. I can tell you I won’t be making that mistake again…
Fourth day of manual shooting – any bets on how long I will last? I’m going with 15 days. I think I’ll get myself a real treat if I last that long!
